Dr Steve Glowinkowski, Co-Founder & Chief Scientific Officer, has a BSc and an MA in Psychology from Sheffield University, and a PhD in Psychology from UMIST. For over 40 years, he has worked as a psychologist, originally in industry with ICI and then Barclays, before setting up his own consultancy, Glowinkowski International. His life’s work has been the study of what successful people do differently. He has published two books: ‘Strategy, People, Implementation’ and ‘It’s Behaviour, Stupid!’

Emer O’Donnell, Co-Founder & Chief Coaching Officer, has a BA in Psychology from University College, Dublin and an MSc in Coaching & Behavioural Change from Henley Business School. She came to the UK from Ireland in the late 80s to work in the newspaper industry, moving to concentrate on publishing logistics with The Guardian, News UK and Daily Mail & General Trust. Until 2011 she was Global Director of Sales & Marketing for DHL Higgs, when she decided to return to her psychology roots and re-train as a coach.

Jonathan Watmough, Co-Founder & Chief Executive, has a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Leicester, Solicitors’ Finals from The College of Law and then trained as a solicitor in the City of London at Reynolds Porter Chamberlain. He became an M&A and Corporate Finance Partner in 1998, Chairman of the firm in 2006 and full time Managing Partner from 2008 to 2016. During his tenure running the firm, RPC was named UK Law Firm of the Year three times, and Jonathan was named twice in The Lawyer’s ‘Hot 100’ top lawyers in the UK. He retired from the firm in December 2016 specifically to lead the Quintillion project. He is a governor of two schools.

Andrew Woolfson, Chief Technology Officer, has a BA in History from Swansea University and a post-graduate diploma in Information Management from Queens University Belfast. He has many years’ experience working in senior IT roles, including at BDO and RPC. He was awarded the title of Visiting Professor of Professional Services, Research and Enterprise at the University of Huddersfield in 2012. Andrew has been instrumental in delivering major systems and business change solutions throughout his career.

Dr Kali Demes, Head of Product Science, has a BSc and PhD in Psychology from the University of Essex, with a research background in social, cultural and health psychology, and publications in top journals in the field. In 2014, she joined Glowinkowski International in a research and development role, and is now leading day-to-day operations relating to content and algorithm management on the Quintillion project.


Dr Martin Vaughan, Head of Data Science, has a BSc in Physics and Mathematics from the Open University, an MSc in the Physics of Laser Communications from the University of Essex and a PhD in Solid State Physics, also from the University of Essex. He has worked as a computational physicist and lecturer for many years and has extensive experience in programming and computer science. Motivated by the intellectual challenges of problem solving and a deep passion for understanding the fundamental nature of complex systems, he brings to Quintillion the expertise to realise the meeting point of computer science, AI and psychology.


John Langley, Advisory Board, has an MA in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University. He began a career in investment banking in 1990 with Chase Manhattan, before moving to Merrill Lynch in 1995 where he held various senior leadership roles, including Global Head of Currency Options Trading and Head of Risk Advisory. He joined Barclays Capital in 2006 to lead the Risk Solutions Group, and was appointed Global Head of Capital Markets in 2012. John retired from Barclays in 2017 to pursue his passion for raising beef cattle. He is a Fellow of The Sutton Trust Charity, and a Trustee of the Bursary Fund at The King’s School, Chester. In July 2019, John was appointed a Regional President and Head of Corporate & Investment Banking EMEA for Wells Fargo.

Mark Bennison, Advisory Board, has a BSc in applied physiology and environmental physics from Nottingham University and an MA (distinction) in educational leadership from Anglia Ruskin University. A physics, mathematics and IT teacher and head of department for over thirty years, Mark was appointed as an accredited Advanced Skills Teacher for ten of those. Following this, he became a secondary school principal in three high-performing state schools and both trained and practiced as an Ofsted lead inspector. Mark became a DfE recognised Local Leader of Education in Milton Keynes and subsequently, a Senior Education Officer for a highly successful Free School Trust in North London. Since late 2016, Mark has been based in the Middle East as a Senior Inspector working across 200 private schools, covering 17 different international curricula.

Devon Hanson, Advisory Board, has a BSc in Youth and Community Studies and Sport Science from the University of Roehampton. For over 28 years, Devon has been a senior teacher and pastoral leader to thousands of young people in South London schools. He took on his first Headship role in 2007 and within four years the school was named ‘the most improved in England’. The impact of his school leadership has earned national and international recognition. Devon has worked in an advisory capacity with the Home Office, Civil Renewal Unit, the DfE, the BBC, radio and television and was asked to give a presentation to the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit on Behaviour Management, highlighting strategies for positive change among young disaffected inner-city pupils.


Paul Pugal, Advisory Board, has a BSc in Mathematics and an MSc in Medical Statistics & Information Technology from the University of Leicester. Paul has been working within direct channels for over 25 years across a number of industries, including financial services, media, insurance, automotive and logistics. Paul has led a number of large direct operations both onshore and offshore. He has been very active in the digitisation space, and has developed and introduced a number of self-service capabilities, including speech self-service and mobile applications specifically within financial services, insurance and currently within one of the largest logistics providers in the world – FedEx.


Mark Sherfield, Advisory Board, is a chartered accountant, and has held the role of CFO at BDO UK since 1999; from 2010 to 2016 he was also COO. His focus is on helping partners to strengthen commercial management and to drive profitable growth. He is also involved in the digital transformation taking place across the business. Mark is a member of the BDO UK Operations Board, which has responsibility for the operational performance of the business. He has held several non-executive director positions in regulated and non-regulated businesses.
